Pro Altimeter offers multiple calibration methods to ensure accurate altitude measurements. You can use GPS altitude by correlating the local barometric pressure with the altitude measured by GPS. Alternatively, you can manually enter altitude based on landmarks, elevation benchmarks, or topo maps. If you have access to weather reports or METAR data, you can manually enter pressure to correlate it with local barometric pressure. Additionally, the app can locate the five closest airports within 100 miles of your location and import pressure data for calibration.

Once calibrated, Pro Altimeter keeps track of the time since the last calibration and warns you when 6 hours have elapsed. It is recommended to calibrate frequently, especially during hikes or when weather conditions change. The app is compatible with iOS devices equipped with a built-in barometric pressure sensor, providing accurate altitude measurements.
